When coal, gas, and mining industry lobbyists flooded certain markets with misleading television ads against clean air standards, the EDF Political Affairs team needed to counterattack. The insight? That industry lobbyists have historically spread lies about public health issues, dating back to claiming that cigarette smoking was actually healthy. We doubled down on that insight to make a direct parallel with today’s anti-clean-air campaigns. The piece aired in local markets that were particularly under siege by industry promotions.
