Postcards From New Orleans
The EDF ecosystems team asked me to direct a video showcasing why coastal resilience was important for New Orleans businesses, including the fact that stronger wetlands provided better protection against storms. During the week of that video shoot, Hurricane Sandy hit the Northeast, and after finishing my primary shoot, I was stranded from returning home. As I spoke with local residents who had weathered multiple hurricanes themselves, I found incredible empathy. I spontaneously hired a small camera crew and roamed the city taping those good wishes for the people in the northeast. The Ecosystems program communications team used the piece with some of its key donors, and added to the program’s overall coastal resilience campaign.
